Shahid Kapoor plays Arjun in the movie, a 36-year-old former cricket player who resolves to play again in order to grant his son’s yearning to wear a jersey. Inspector Shivani Mathur, portrayed by Mrunal Thakur, is the one in charge of the inquiry and seeks the truth. In significant roles in the movie are Ronit Roy, Vedika Pinto, and Manish Chaudhari. The 2019 Hindi-language action drama film Batla House was written and directed by Ritesh Shah and Nikkhil Advani. The movie is based on the 2008 Batla House encounter case, in which two alleged Indian Mujahideen terrorists were slain by a group of Delhi Police officers during a raid on an apartment at Batla House, Jamia Nagar. ACP Sanjay Kumar, a fictionalised representation of Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, the police officer who spearheaded the encounter, is portrayed by John Abraham. Nandita Kumar, Sanjay’s wife and a news anchor, is portrayed by Mrunal Thakur.

The supporting actors in the movie are Ravi Kishan, Rajesh Sharma, Nora Fatehi, and Prakash Raj. On August 15, 2019, the film debuted in cinemas and quickly became a success, grossing around ₹113 crore globally.
