Sharukh khan who was facing a string of flops and took a break for more than 3 years. Finally announced his comeback in a grand way with Pathan. Pathaan can be called the King of comebacks. It has collected more than 1000 crores and gave an excellent start to Indian cinema in January.
With in a span of 9 months, sharukh khan gave another blockbuster in the form of Jawaan. Although most of the critics panned this film for its outdated content nothing has stopped this film in becoming another 1000 crore film at the box office. There is severe criticism against this movie box office collections that Shahrukh khan has blocked many seats, made corporate bookings but at the end of the day nothing counts. With a dual role sharukh khan amazes everyone. It was a clear hit in both telugu and tamil versions also.
Within just 3 months after the release of Jawaan, Sharukh khan has released another film DUNKI. This film has huge expectations from the time of announcement itself. As he was teaming up with master storyteller Rajkumar Hirani for the first time. Unfortunately, it failed to meet the humongous expectations. Initial reports are not very engaging but it had fair chances to become an average grosser box.it is definitely not a bad film, but because of huge expectations it fell short. Content wise it is far superior than Pathaan and jawan but lengthy running time, slow pace, inconsistent screenplay, huge expectations are the major drawbacks.
Releasing three films in a single year is not a normal thing. Scoring back to back 1000cr blockbuster is another rare feat. Sharukh khan films alone contributed nearly 2500cr rupees to the Indian box office. Let’s hope King khan will continue his success streak in coming years also.
