Irrespective of the star cast, good films will always find takers, as was proven recently with the Hindi film 12th Fail. Starring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar in the lead roles, the movie is inspired by the real-life story of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi.
Other than Vidhu Vinod Chopra no other big names were associated with this cinema. Trailer impressed big time and helped to gain good collections which are very good for upcoming actors like Vikrant Massey. It was also released along with Kangana Ranaut starrer Tejas which was unanimously not accepted by the audience. It is the clean hit of the year 2023.
At the box office, 12th Fail started a bit slow, but the exceptional reviews and word of mouth worked in favor of the movie big time. The result is that 12th Fail collected a humongous 50 crores net by the end of its theatrical run which are exceptional when compared to its opening numbers. The movie ran successfully for more than 50 days at the box office which is a big achievement. It was the first clean hit for vidhu vinod chopra as a director.
Collections wise it may look less when compared to other big films. It recovered all the investment, returns are more than 100%. It was liked by everyone. Those who missed watching this beautiful cinema in theaters. The film will be available for streaming from 29th December on Disney Plus Hotstar.
There is no clarity about the dubbed versions, though. Vidhu Vinod Chopra is the writer and director of 12th Fail. Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sanjay Bishnoi, and Harish Khanna played prominent roles. Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Zee Studios produced the film. Those who missed watching this inspirational flick in theaters can catch it on Disney Plus Hotstar from the said date.
